1972 BMW 2002 Additional Info:

This is a very special specimen, classic & iconic BMW 2002Tii. Just recently acquired, the previous owner imported the vehicle in the late 1990s from Canada. Plan was to undertake a full restoration on it, but my dream porsche has just come in front of me, so quickly moving on to that project!! This old girl does not currently run, nor was it running since coming to the USA, but it IS more-or-less complete. Engine looks to be in very clean and complete condition. Perhaps most importantly, this is one of the earliest examples we've seen to join the 2002 Registry, resurrected from barn find / long-storage. In fact, she's one of the first 50 cars of this production model to come off the line, the very lovely number #44. Anyone who follows F1 and roots for the German Manufacturers will get this recognizable number reference.
Previous owner claims this vehicle has been all over the world, likely intended for classics racing in Group2 or with organizations like Masters, SCCA, and likely had the custom bodvwork (assumed to be a "ZENDER WIDE-Body kit & Chin spoiler") fitted & painted overseas in the late 1980s. There is no title, which further supports the racing history narrative, but the car will come with a bill of sale (like the former owner, we listed as: "lemon & manufacturer buyback" because the Ebay listing requires an entry, and this is the least misleading of their pre-programmed options. There is no Flood Damage and it is not Salvage.
There are 2 VERY good condition front seats included with the car. The floor pan however, is rusted through (vou can see the ground), so it will need replacing. Replacement floorpans are available and cost <$400. Any Body shoppe should be able to spot weld new pre-fab stamped sheet metal without much headache.
Seeking an inspired buyer to be the next custodian of this very unique classic sports import. Expecting a quick sale. Car located just outside of Portland Oregon. Happy to help coordinate shipment.
No refunds of deposits, so if you're keen to own this beauty, be committed to complete the transaction. Storage fees of $50/day for vehicle after 7 days, unless otherwise arrangements made in advance. Happy Bidding. Vroom Vroom.
