This 1991 BMW 535i is finished in Calypso Red Metallic over black cloth upholstery and is powered by a turbocharged 3.5-liter inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Modifications include a Callaway turbocharger kit, revised suspension components, a Dinan short shifter and adjustable sway bars, Megasquirt engine management, and a Billy Boat exhaust system/ Additional equipment includes an M Sport-specification body kit, Dinan badging, 17″ DP Motorsport wheels, and a microsuede headliner. The car was initially registered in California and spent time in Texas before being acquired by the seller in 2021. This modified E34 is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Calypsorot Metallic (252) and features an M Sport-specification body kit, European-specification headlights with Morimoto Mini D2S projectors, fog lights, a front license plate-delete panel, a sliding steel sunroof, aheckblende, and Dinan badging and polished dual exhaust outlets. Exterior blemishes include stone chips on the front end, scuffs on the lower front valance, and clear coat peeling on the spoiler.
Three-piece 17″ DP Motorsport Enduro wheels are mounted with Dinan wheel spacers and wear 245/45 Falken Azenis AT615K+ tires. Modifications are said to include E31 850CI front brake components, E36 M3 rear brake calipers and rotors, UUC Motorwerks stainless-steel brake lines, Moosehead spherical upper control arms, E31 spherical lower control arms, and AKG Motorsport 1″ bump steer plates. The car is said to have been fitted with Dinan adjustable sway bars and lowering springs as well as Koni dampers and polyurethane rear strut mounts, sway bar bushings, and subframe bushings.
The interior features seating surfaces upholstered in black cloth with M Hurricane inserts and are joined by matching door panels and black Dinan-branded floor mats. Burl wood veneers accent the cabin, while microsuede upholstery lines the roof and pillars. Amenities include manual front sport seats, an illuminated leather M5 shift knob, M5 20 Jahre Edition-style seatbelts, a self-retracting middle passenger belt, dual-zone climate control, an onboard trip computer, power windows and door locks, and an inop radio. The car is said to be equipped with a Dinan short shifter kit.
The microsuede-wrapped three-spoke steering complimentsthe VDO auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, turbocharger boost, and air/fuel ratio are mounted in the center stack.
The engine bay houses a 3.4-liter M30 inline-six that has been modified with a Callaway turbocharger kit, Megasquirt engine management, an air-to-air intercooler, and a revised air intake. An oil change and cooling system flush were performed in preparation for the sale. The car last passed a California emissions test in March 2022.
The car was factory-equipped with an automatic transmission, and a five-speed manual transmission was fitted under prior ownership. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential with 3.46:1 gearing along with with a lightweight flywheel, M5 clutch components, a 3″ downpipe, and a Billy Boat exhaust system with Dinan-branded finishers.
