Up for sale is a 1988 BMW 320i Touring. I purchased this car a few months back overseas where I found it laid to rest in a gentleman's back yard. It had been previously used for motorsport racing, so it was partially stripped and had lowered suspension installed. When I bought it, I had quite a bit of work done to it prior to sending it stateside. The car got fully inspected, further leading to a complete fuel system overhaul with all new drop in pump. The car also got a matching set of back seats as well as door cards, a cluster, a new slave cylinder (with fresh fluid), battery, and some other small bits and bobs. About halfway into all this I slowly realized my current project car needed more work then anything, so I made the executive decision to sell the e30 once it made it stateside. So, here it is!
The car runs great, absolutely zero smoking or burning of oil. The motor sounds super healthy and not tappety like most m20's. The transmission is smooth, the clutch engaging as it should. Zero leaks. The car is rather dirty on the undercarriage as it was sitting in a yard for years, but it is rust free. The only signs of rust come from the front fenders, where theres 1 or 2 half inch patches. Easily replaceable with any US e30 Sedan fenders. Rear hatch is clean as well as the usual rot spots, tire well, engine bay, etc. Rear arches and quarters are flawless. Hood is dented and faded as you can see in the photos. The drivers side tie rod does need replacing as it was bent slightly whilst unloading from transport sometime along its journey to America.
Interior is actually rather clean. Usual light ripping of the driver side bottom half of the seat (cloth e30 life), slightly saggy headliner. Needs a few relays to be fully back into action but as the title says, it is a project. Passenger seat is flawless, as are the rears and carpet.
So, if you're hunting for a rare, amazingly fun, and absolute neck breaker, look no further. This car is priced rather low for tourings as I feel it accurately shows the cars condition, but you are getting a serious amount of car for the price.
