1969 BMW Other Additional Info:
Must sell as we are moving to Italy. This 1969 BMW 2800CS is number 1801 of the E9 variant. Originally transported from Germany to Minnesota in 1983. I purchased this car from the 3rd owner in 2003 from Minnetonka, Minnesota with the hopes of completing a ground up restoration. I got as far as redoing all of the leather interior. The leather is from GAHH out of North Hollywood California and was fitted by Koch Upholstery in Rockford Illinois in 2005. The total cost 13 years ago was around $4000 for redoing the leather. The seats sat wrapped in storage until a month ago when I installed them in the vehicle.
The engine runs and the car drove a while ago however the clutch slave is sticking and will not fully engage. The fuel tank is currently bypassed with a small plastic gas tank to run the engine as the fuel lines have not been replaced yet. The vehicle was almost completely disassembled for restoration. I have since installed most of the items for this sale. Please note many electrical switches have not been reconnected such as the headlights and rear windows. I was going to alkaline dip the chassis and replace the front fenders and the rocker panels. I have original new old stock front fenders and the 3 piece rocker panels ready to install. They alone are worth $7000. I also have Original BMW waist trim, cloisonne roundels and the 2800 CS numbering.
Many extra parts come with this including additional doors with electric windows, cylinder heads, Intake manifold and carburetors, amoung many other things.
As a bonus a second Vehicle is include with this purchase, It is also a 1969 2800CS number 2200322. The engine has not ran since I purchased it and I had no intentions of restoring this vehicle as I was going to use it for parts if necessary it however it did turn over. The title is clear on this vehicle. The interior is not salvageable for this vehicle however most all of the exterior trim and all of the glass are in excellent shape. I also intended using the nose clip from this vehicle (2200322) when replacing the front fenders on 2201801.
Feel free to ask for additional photos as I was limited to 24 on this listing. Please also visit www.bmwclassicparts.com and www.e9coupe.com for additional resources.
