STK 3855 1960 Austin Healey 3000 MKI BT7 British Motor Corporation announced the release of the Austin Healey 3000 MK1 in July, 1959. Various models of the Healey 3000 series remained in production through 1967 when all Austin Healey manufacturing ceased. This 1960 Healey 3000 MK1/BT-7 (4-seater) has been the beneficiary of a complete rotisserie restoration. The current owner has been the caretaker of this stunning roadster for over 37 years and has furnished a comprehensive history of the restoration process including receipts. This 3000 MK1 is not a concourse show car, but it is very, very close. The frame, chassis and all body panels were carefully prepped and beautifully refinished in 2-stage acrylic Old English White (2379) and Colorado Red (3742), all color-sanded to a 'street concourse' finish. Chrome is excellent and sparkling 15" chrome wheels w/stainless wire spokes mount nearly new radials. The seats were reupholstered in high-grade red leather and, along with the handsome red carpet, are very impressive. A matching red top and boot cover are virtually flawless. As for the rest of the interior, look at the photos again - this passenger compartment is outstanding. The 2.9L motor resides in a spotless engine compartment and was totally rebuilt (2010). The factory fitted the MK1 3000 series with dual SU-HD6 carburetors and it was rated at 124bhp/167b-ft. The Healey 4-speed is fitted with electric overdrive and the rear differential was factory equipped with 3.91:1 gearing. The spotless chassis is equipped manual steering and manual Girling 11" dia. front disc/rear drum brakes (all components rebuilt). The suspension is front coil/rear leaf and all suspension components have also been carefully refreshed. If you appreciate classic British motoring, do not delay. This is your Healey Austin Healy 3000 MK1 - photos do not do it justice. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
