Owner’s Notes

“This 1966 Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 is a beautifully presented, multi–show-winning example of the final and most refined generation of the legendary “Big Healey.” Widely regarded as the most desirable series (1966–1967), the BJ8 features the most powerful engine offered during the model’s production run along with meaningful improvements in comfort and drivability. Late-production cars like this one came equipped with roll-up windows, upgraded suspension components, enhanced ground clearance, and a more luxurious interior highlighted by a burled walnut dash—features that made these final Healeys the most usable and best-developed of the entire lineup.

Finished in its original Healey Blue over blue vinyl with silver piping, this car presents a striking and period-correct appearance that immediately sets it apart. It has undergone a complete bare-metal restoration, during which it was fully disassembled for a precise and thorough rebuild. Extensive rust proofing and undercoating were applied to ensure long-term protection, while its two-stage base/clear paint shows to an exceptional standard with clean body lines and excellent panel alignment. All chrome was either re-plated or replaced, and the halogen headlamps and fog lights replicate the factory originals, reflecting the depth and care of the restoration. A true head-turner wherever it goes, this BJ8 combines timeless British styling with classic open-top motoring—offering a rare opportunity to own a meticulously restored and beautifully preserved piece of automotive history.”
