1964 Austin Healey Sprite Additional Info:
For Sale is my 1964 MK2 Austin Healey Sprite with 18,134 Original Miles since new (A True SURVIVOR). The "Signal Red" Body (original- no re-spray), Red Interior with White Piping (original), new for carpeting and new cushion foam, and a *Loita Wood Rimmed Steering Wheel, and Shoulder Harness Seat Belts, Red Top (original) and Red Tonneau (original). The Chrome Bumpers and Grill are excellent original condition as well. The Transmission is a Datsun 5 Speed with OD 5th (Rivergate conversion) with an AH Wood shift knob and special Twin outside rear view mirrors. The Engine (with approximately 1500 break-in miles on it) is a 1275 A Series Block (coded "V"= stronger internal webbing thats been bored .0020 over). It has been partially balanced and has fairly "hot" cam (but very "streetable"), along with a Weber 2V progressive Carburetor, Pacesetter Exhaust Header, new Sprite Muffler and produces about 80hp- and it definitely wants to go over 100mph in 5th! The engine has a special crankcase ventilation system and a new gas tank with locking gas cap. A Lucas (german made) 50 Amp Alternator and Optima Red Top Battery, converted to a Negative Ground system, with; New Lucas Voltage Regulator, Rebuilt Starter, New Shocks, and New Tires (155R13) 2000 miles ago. A New Crossflow Aluminum Radiator with factory Air Box, Electric Fuel Pump, and Twin Electric Air Horns, 2-Lucas Road Lights and Cibe style Headlamps. The wheels are Disc with "AH" Chrome Hubcaps. Original Owners Manual, BMC Shop Manual, and Car Cover. The Rubber Seals on the Original Side Curtains have been replaced, and I have the original storage bag for same, the original Jack and Tools and their original storage bags for same. In the rear, the Axel Seals and Bearings have been replaced along with a New (double) Master Cylinder, new Brake linings and Wheel Cylinders (in rear) and new Bearings (in front) with new seals and Reworked Disc Brake Pucks and new Disc Pads. A Front Anti-Roll Bar has been added. The body is basically rust free and there has never been any repair of any kind. All Instruments have been serviced and or cleaned. The original owner drove the Sprite for 3 to 4 summers, and then it was stored inside for 41 years, after which, I bought it in 2009 from the gentleman's estate. I have owned six MK2 Sprites since the early 60's, and this one is by far the best (and fastest). The car runs great and is fairly quick and is "reliable". The original 16,000 mile, 1098cc Engine (nothing wrong with it I wanted more "zip"- and it could be reinstalled it if desired), Clutch and Plate, Rebuilt Generator, SU Carbs, Radiator, a perfect original black *Steering Wheel etc. is included, along with some other miscellaneous new parts. I do have the "British Heritage Certificate" for the car.The Sprite could be driven home (if you were up to it) and I could also assist in arranging shipping. Over $35K invested and but arthritis in my hands and bad hips have finally caught up with me. The price is $22,000. FOB Minneapolis, MN USA. Please contact me (ALLEN) with any questions at 952-927-6187 or at ahi777@aol.com Payment by wire transfer. Also please note, that the Sprite is ForSale Locally, and that the offer could be withdrawn at anytime.
