1969 Austin Healey Sprite Additional Info:
1969 Austin Healey Sprite . Condition is Used. I am the second owner. Purchased from a friend in 1981 who's father owned it but had passed in 1981. We have winter and I run the car every so often during that time and every spring, it starts up every year. I have most receipts on any repairs and a log since 1969 denoting refilling the gas, date, mileage, and cost. I also have original manuals, bill of sale, car ID in the form of a metal plate, and the original bumper sticker from the auto dealer where originally purchased, Samples in Detroit. Mostly original. Off the top of my head, replaced gas line, shocks, ball joints, some steering linkag, battery, some radiator hoses, tires couple of times. Had the same mechanic from English Motors for many years until he retired. Since then, a mechanic in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This is not a rebuilt car and is in original condition. Interior, everything works, even the radio although very statically, but radio stations with strong signals works pretty well. I have two tonneau covers, one brand new, the old one has a tear in it. Convertible top works well and is in great shape, and the convertible cover in pretty good shape. Seat belts work well, seats good, floor upholstering is worn through to the metal floor passenger side. windshield washer works but one is loose. Wipers work. Exterior paint is original with a few small rust spots. The body is in really good shape, solid metal, with passenger door with a few dings and small dings all around the body. Paint is 51 years old with small little cracks throughout. Underbody has rust spots. Tried to take pics to show the rust, still solid metal though. And like many British cars, oil and hydraulic fluid leaks. Its always leaked since the day I bought it. May need to replace gaskets where needed. Do not know if that will stop the leaking though. I have taken care of this car pretty well over the years but it needs a little work if one wants it in prime condition. It drives very well and solid, is a lot of fun. It handles well and I have had many memories piling the children in the car driving around and its been a blast. I didn't want to baby the car, or be so meticulous whereby subduing the fun of the experience. We drove it to have fun so the car isn't in perfect condition. Given the age, it is in good condition and is a good base to start from, and it is solid. Car sold as is, no refunds, it is the buyer's responsibility to take delivery. Any other questions, please feel free to ask. 39 years of memories is difficult to put into a listing. Questions will help jog my memory
