1966 Austin Healey Sprite -- Additional Info:

1966 Austin Healey Sprite Excellent Condition Throughout Tremendous Fun Very Well-Sorted VIN: HAN8L55037 Engine #: 10CGDAH5940 (1098cc I4) Exterior: - See video with listing, as every blemish on the car is shown close-up and in direct sunlight. The car is in excellent cosmetic order; the only blemishes on the car are a few very small chips, and a light scratch on the lower driver door. - Green paint was done to a high standard. There isn't any visible paint run or any dust under the paint. Finish is very good. - Black steelies are in great shape, and the Austin Healey-branded chrome hubcaps aren’t dinged up at all. Tires are in close-to-new condition, though the DOT number indicates they were manufactured in 2008. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack free - While the car currently is bumper-less, we do have the chrome bumpers and will send them with the car. Bumpers are in excellent shape, we just prefer the bumper-less look. - Chrome is very nice throughout. No oxidation or damage. - Weatherstripping is in great shape. Not dry or cracked. - Obviously in the photos the muffler is just hanging there, we had a new exhaust on the way and have since installed it. The car also has a side-exit exhaust by the driver’s door, which can be uncapped for a louder exhaust. With the side-exit exhaust capped, the sound is very tame (capped in the video). - Car will come with a black convertible top, which is in excellent shape, as well as a black tonneau cover. Interior: - Interior is in really nice shape throughout. - Seats show little wear. The passenger seat bottom has two small tears, driver’s seat is in great shape. No scuffs, just the little bursts on the passenger seat bottom. - Dash looks great. No damage, scratches, or anything of the sort. - While the speedometer is functional, the tachometer isn't currently functioning. - Odometer reads just over 80k; we cannot verify if this is actual. - This car has a surprising amount of legroom, considering how small it is. A 6ft+ person could comfortably drive it, though maybe not with the top up. - Black carpeting is in excellent shape. Under the Hood / Underbody: - The engine is a long-stroke 1098cc inline 4 cylinder (10GC code, correct for a MK2 Sprite. We were told the engine and trans were rebuilt a few years ago, but unfortunately the car did not come with any receipts for the rebuild. The engine sure looks close-to-new, and runs phenomenally well, but we do not know the exact details of the service history. The little 1.1L I4 puts out about 60hp, which while it doesn’t sound like much, is plenty in this lightweight roadster. - The car runs and drives extremely well. Starts right up, idles steady and cool, shifts really nice and smooth, accelerates without any hesitation, and sounds great. The car soaks up bumps and corners with ease, suspension is very nicely sorted. The car tracks dead straight under both acceleration and braking, and the brakes are excellent. Very much a confidence-inspiring driver. As it sits, this car is in need of nothing other than a new owner to drive and enjoy it. - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as it’s documented in detail. Underbody looks great. Absolutely no through rust, and really not even much of any surface rust. The car has been sitting here in our showroom for over a week now, and there are no drips of oil or any other fluids underneath it. Overall, this is a fun-to-drive, well-sorted Sprite that is sure to make the next owner very happy.
