This Tickford alloy bodied matching numbers saloon was originally delivered on April 5, 1958 to Michael T. Davy, Ontario, Canada; optioned with fully chromed twin exhausts, wire wheels, special large heater and factory under sealing treatment. It remained in Ontario under subsequent careful stewardships of Dr. Andrew Dwoarks purchase in 1983 and David Thorton, Esq. in 1989. In the early 1990s it was acquired by noted collector and AMOC member Richard Sirota of Greenwich, Connecticut and underwent a full body-off restoration, complete engine and mechanicals rebuild by noted restorer Hyannis Restorations. In subsequent years it garnered numerous Best of Show and Best in Class awards at AMOC concour events on the East Coast.
Purchased in late 2009 by its current owner-collector and AMOC member it underwent a seven month TLD exterior restoration fully documented with photographs and work orders. Project included new fuel pump, rebuilt master brake cylinder, brake lines, replacement of all seals, hoses, gaskets and fittings, corrosion protection throughout, generator conversion to alternator, negative ground conversion, electronic ignition with new wiring, thermostat, upgraded factory specified instrument lighting without any compromise to aesthetics, flushed and resealed fuel tank, new fuel filter, re-alignment of clutch, brake pedals and seat adjustments providing superb driving position options, twin carburetor rebuild, custom made bell housing tray, rebuilt exhaust manifolds, full suspension servicing, realign all windows and cranks, new Talbot rear view mirrors, new lighting bulbs throughout, trued and balanced Borrani wire wheels, new Avon 185R16 turbo steel radial tires, professionally polished head, radiator capping and all engine bright work, clock conversion to quartz, high crank battery and newly livered in AM Pacific Blue. Original Owners Manual, Shop Manual, Parts Catalogue, complete tools and four sets of keys accompany the vehicle. Mileage upon completion of this restoration was 69,322.
In April 2011 further upgrades, restoration and modifications were performed. These included a Kevin Kay 5-speed transmission, modified drive shaft, high crank starter, quick change oil filter, new solenoid, high tech aluminum spring towers, rebuilt front suspension, new bearings and spindle shafts, new water and fuel pumps, new seals to front and rear axles. All replaced original parts remain in working order and accompany the vehicle. A complete list and photographic record of this work is documented in the vehicles history and documentation file. Cost of this 2011 project was $27,000 and all invoices and a full photographic record accompany the vehicle.
In 2014-15 Kevin Kay Restorations, was commissioned with no cost restrictions for a full inspection and authorization to bring it to a concour level. They performed a complete rebuild and upgrade of the suspension, brakes, cooling system and upper engine costing $90,886 and a complete re-trim to original factory specifications costing $29,273 together with a full service and adjustments costing $7,265 was performed with a full photographic record. Its Borrani wire wheels were factory rebuilt, aligned and new Avon 185R16 turbo steel radial tires fitted. Included are a set of four Dayton Chrome Wire Wheels and custom car cover. All invoices, correspondence, ownership records and its Aston Martin Heritage Certificate are in two bound three ring binders. It has clocked only 168 miles since it Keven Kay restoration and has been garaged in a climate controlled environment. It has never been campaigned and it is eligible for every major show or event.
