It was the height of the PERFORMANCE ERA and American Motors wanted in on the ACTION! They chose to go above and beyond their Ford and Chevrolet competitors and build a unique true SPORTS CAR! The AMX name came from American Motors Experimentaland wasintroduced at the Daytona International Speedway in February 1968 where it went 130 MPH. American Motors also partnered with Playboy to introduce the SEXY car!

The body on thisAMXwas stripped to bare metal (see pic) during the exterior restoration that was just completed. Added touches are the Front and Rear Mark Donahue Spoilers. The paint is as unique as the AMX and is from the Dave Kendig /Akzo Noble line is officially called Bruised! The color is designed to have the effects of a pearl color, but is easy to touch up or refinish if there is a blemish. The paint and finish on the AMX are of Show Quality! The interior on the AMX is nearly perfect and appears to be completely original. The miles listed are currently on the odometer, but cannot be verified and like most older vehicles sold as exempt. The current engine in the AMX is a 390 CU IN engine that was completely rebuilt and mated to the very popular BorgWarner T-10 4-speed manual transmission and the POWER gets to the ground through a POSI-TRAC Rear End. The engine runs out strong, sounds GREAT, and the AMX performs excellent.
