Poor health has forced me to realize projects will never get done. Thus I am selling some parts, literature, and thinning the herd on my cars. I have been into 1970 AMC since Sept 1975 when I bought my AMX. You just don't find many solid wagons anymore. Up for sale today is my 1970 American Motors Ambassador SST station wagon. Mosport green with the optional woodgrain sides.Shows approximately 62000 on the odometer. The owners manual says it was originally sold at City Rambler of Jackson Heights NY. The car was in Pierson Florida when I bought it in 2000. My guess is that it made the trip to Florida long before that. There is paperwork in the glove box from 1993. The only visible rust I see is at the tailpipe area as shown in the pictures. I am presuming exhaust fumes and possibly the pipe contacting the body was the issue. There are numerous surface rust spots where the paint has been scratched but that's all I see. The car is far from perfect but has great potential to totally restore or fix up as a driver. The car sits as I bought it. Always other projects in the way to even start restoration. The car is a 360 2bbl. automatic, power steer, power brakes, air conditioning (a/c was standard on an Ambassador) car. It has tinted glass all around with a shaded/tinted windshield. It has what AMC called a visibility group option, electric wiper, lh remote mirror, cloc, etc. It will need brake work for sure as only the front brakes work at this time, definitely not safe to street drive. Somebody before me tried to shorten the car. Hit both front fender extensions, dented them up pretty good and tweaked the fenders. I have a set of good usedfenderextensionsthat go with the car. Car is located on the far east end of South Dakota if anyone wants to see it in person. I am asking for a $500 Paypal deposit from the winning bidder. Car is sold as is where is.Don't forget to bid. If bidding does not look good I may pull the sale and sell locally. I will assist as best as I can with loading on your trailer. Please ask any questions you may have before bidding. Thanks for looking.
