1969 AMC Other Additional Info:
This patriotic colored car is an AMC Rambler 2dr. It is painted as a tribute to the rare AMC Hurst S/C Rambler, aka Scrambler. Thepaint and body on this are in very good shape, granted not perfect, but clean and rust free. Paint has held up very well. Theinterior has aftermarket bucket seats and wood custom made door panels. The interior is in goodshape for a driver, but can beeasily changed if desired.
The inline six does start and run, though the carb likely could use a rebuild. I purchased because the body was in such great shape and it was different. Intended to do an LS swap in to this, which I think would still be a cool way to roll with this. I have too many projects to finishup thisyear to do the swap.
Though it does start up and stop and move, it does need some TLC in a couple areas. Carb has a tough time holding idle, but I have not cleaned it up either. Wiring for ignition was done by what appears to be aKindergartner, but that would insult most Kindergartners. Lets say it could stand to be cleaned up, though since I wasgoing to go the swap route, it did not bother me. A/C is not working but its there. Lastly, the starter lock out on the transmission requires you to pull up on it to start, again problem solved with LS swap.
