1976 Alfa Romeo Spider Additional Info:

I remember when my friend bought this car 21 years ago. It was a nice survivor that he did a bunch of service on the first year and then it was a good running, driving car. I have astack of receipts from then to include a new clutch, new brakes, driveshaft support bearing, flex joints, clean and coat fuel tank, belts and hoses, shift boots, pilot bushing, shifter seal, tune up kit, spica filter, coil and wires, new top, motor mounts, trans mount, etc. Point being, the car was well maintained.

Then in 2005 he decided to do the dual Webber carb setup. Along with that he changed over the fuel pump and installed a AR Performance Ignition ($339 Int Auto). Jetting was a little rich but the car ran strong! He continued to keep up the service as needed.

About a year or solater the ignition box died, apparently a voltage spike or such took it out. At that time he decided to park the car anddo a body restoration as rust was setting in.

Never happened, and time flies-------.

At present the car has substantial rust, maybe enough to delegate it being a parts car. I think that a shame, as with a good dose of TLC it could make a great driver. The ignition is still dead but the engine cranks with excellent compression, 170 psi +/- on my gauge. Fuel pump works, though now the fuel line is not hooked up, didn't want to introduce 9 year old gas into the carbs. It's pretty dang complete and the interior is better than some I see in use. The rust is largely cosmetic, see photos.

I did not try the brakes as I don't want them to possibly stick making transport difficult. After approximately 9 years I'd plan on cleaning them, but you never know, there is still fluid in the reservoirs (clutch too).

I'm sure there are probably other gremlins to address, but hopefully someone will think this fun. Otherwise a great parts car.

Also included are two Spica pumps and various bits.

Thanks for looking, personal inspection is welcome. Doug 937 231 019three.
