For sale – 1988 Alfa Romeo Milano ( 75 ) Verde 3.0171010 miles sold AS ISZARDA124XJ1051897Sold by Beverly Hills Alfa 10/28/1988Solid NO RUST car, location history Los Angeles, CA ( 7 years, 111967 miles ) -> Portland, OR ( 2 years, 128000 miles ) -> SF Bay Area, CA ( 10 years ) -> Kohler, WI ( 9 years )I have owned since 1996, stored in garage year round. In Wisconsin never driven from Oct. to May, about 2000 miles put on in Wisconsin, mostly to and from storage facility.Car is outstanding in handling, I have owned 86 GTV-6 modified, 89 2.5 Platinum modified, 87 2.5 Platinum stock and this car is the tops in handling. It is a rush to drive. You would have to spend a lot of dollars to get an equivalent road feel. My background track trained at Bob Bondurant Driving School, former electrical engineer from Si Valley and son of WWII GI bill aircraft mechanic. I am turning 60 this year and had kids very late in life and have not had the time to use and enjoy this car. Many extra parts from all my Alfas, see photo.BODY•Never been in accident under my ownership and inspection on lift I cannot detect any repairs ever made.•Slight radiator bottom driver mounting bracket metal distortion from striking parking lot stops when car was very low•Hood front edge slightly rolled due to shipment damage when moved from CA to WI•Area above headlight depressed about 4 mm due to snow tire falling on car while hood was open in garage•Dent on hood from railroad ballast rock that cracked windshield in CA•Roof clear coat is peelingTRANSMISSION•2nd gear is slow, synchro was replaced many miles ago, but I would lighten the gear as provided by APE company in CAWHEELS•original Speedlines – true and straightTIRES•Bridgestone Potenza 205/50 VR15ENGINE•Engine was rebuilt around 150000 (records lost due to water heater leak) miles. 164S pistons/liners, bearings and 164S cams. Developed a head gasket leak ( oil in coolant ) about 5000 miles latter and after replaced gasket, engine runs strong, but I think to return to top performance I would 320 ball hone the cylinders and put new piston rings.ABS•ABS – does not work, works on very cold days close to freezing. I recently debugged and found that coax cable from engine compartment interior connector (aft of airbox ) to passenger front wheel sensor is open. Replace the coax and solder with equivalent and ABS should operate.INTERIOR•Interior is Perfect, driver’s seat was recovered with correct Recaro cloth just the word Recaro was not sewn in. Head liner is droopy in some spots.DOES NOT WORK ( all items below did work during my ownership )•ABS•Oil level sender – removed and cleaned still no operation•Tach - heard high pitch oscillation from this area and now works intermittent with lower speed indicated than actual•Rear windows – slow or no movement, grease is dried in mechanism, fixable•Cruise control – does not operate•A/C – needs to be rechargedMODIFIED•Engine•164S Pistions/liners, cams•ANSA factory headers•Stebro stainless exhaust•Casting flash, burrs removed in head ports, intake runner, air box, gauze air filter•New factory radiator, hoses•New fuel injectors•Not installed Shankle oil cooler system•Brakes•Drilled rotors all•Ferodo pads•Stainless brake lines•Suspension•Shankle 25mm torsion bars•Koni yellow shocks•Shankle intermediate rear springs•All new urethane or factory rubber bushings•Alfa Rome SZ DeDion spherical ball joint – this made a huge difference in read end feedback
