1972 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Riviera camper Additional Info:

The term barn find is over used but I don't know any other way to describe this but as a barn find. It was in an 86 year old mans barn alongside 2 tractors for over 20 years. I purchased it and it sat in my garage for 3 years. I needed the space so we pulled it out and tuned it up and cleaned and polished on it. Its a 1972 VW Riviera Camper van in mostly original condition. Most all of this van is original except for the engine and the wheels were repainted and new tires installed. The body was left as it was found and only cleaned and polished so it will have rock chips and usual dings and marks from a 46 year old vehicle but its in very good condition. The interior is all original as far as I can tell. The seats and door panels are in nice condition. The engine was upgraded from a 1700cc to an 1800cc. Both carbs were rebuilt and synchronized. New spark plugs, new plug wires, new cap, rotor, and points & condenser. Also installed was a new electric fuel pump, new fuel lines and 2 new fuel filters and the engine runs as it should. The body is in very good shape for being a 46 year old. It was undercoated back in the day and the underside is in very good condition as you can see in the pictures and video. All the lights work as well as the radio. The odometer shows just over 44,000 miles but not sure if the odometer has rolled over or not. The only thing that does not work is the fuel gauge. Also the ignition switch was changed to one under the dash as you can see in the video but functions fine and works as it should and works as a theft deterrent being there's 2 keys, 1 for ignition and 1 for the steering lock. I did order a new ignition switch which will be included. Also we have collected a matching blanket and rug as well as place mats that match the interior very nicely. These will be included as well. I have a Woodstock record set that I will include as well(we played it at the last car show). The camper has a good amount of storage under the rear seats along with a nice closet and shelving in the back. There is also a nice sized shelf in the rear above the bed for storing blankets, pillows, clothing, ETC.. If your looking for a nice clean original camper van that's just had new tires and many new tune up parts installed this is the one for you. The van will also have a fresh oil and filter change and a new engine compartment seal installed as well a 2 new air cleaners installed this week. You don't see a steel roof camper van with the small pop top very often. At our last car show we took home the special interest trophy and had a lot of conversations with people regarding the van. The only reason I'm selling the camper van is because our family is too large with 3 kids to enjoy it the way we would like. So I bought an 82 Westfalia that sleeps 4 easily so I need the room in the garage. The van has a clear Florida title and is ready for the new owner. You don't see a lot of this model around, especially in this condition. I will help with delivery as much as I can and might even deliver it if I get what the van is worth. But plan on arranging your own shipping for now. I have described this vehicle to the best of my knowledge and due to the age of this vehicle it is sold Used, As-Is with no warranty. Bid with confidence and feel free to check my %100 feedback and Thank You for looking.
