1979 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ Additional Info:

Hello Everyone,
Up for sale is a 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ. This classic comes coated in Pontiac's color code "pastel green" with a beige landau vinyl top. For its age, the paint still shines great with its clear coat intact. On the inside, it's optioned with a deluxe interior which includes special trim, green velour pillowback seats, and shag carpet. Extra cozy, and the perfect set up for the drive-ins. Its also equipped with power locks, power windows, power bench up front, power brakes and power steering. This car is all original from the inside out, down to the AM/FM radio, which still works! Tuning the radio into your favorite channel will bring you back. The only parts that aren't original are regular maintenance / tune up components. The heart of this car is a Chevy 305 with a 4 barrel carb connected to a 3 speed automatic, with only 97,000 miles! (see picture) I got this car from my aunt who I believe was the second owner, which makes me the 3rd. She purchased it from the Swanson Ford dealership in Los Gatos, CA in the early 80s. The car had been sitting in her garage until about 4 years ago. Since then, I had the water pump, radiator, hoses and belts replaced. I also had the carburetor rebuilt from Ace Automotive & Fuel Systems in San Jose, CA and since then its been running like a champ. I have been using this as my daily driver, I recently had all new tires put on it and front brake pads installed too. Drives great, runs strong and goes through all the gears without any issues. Choke does what it needs to on cold start up, but like most carbureted cars don't forget to pump the gas a few times before start. Yes the car is gorgeous, but like most old cars they are not perfect. Some things to keep in mind: passenger window needs assistance when going up, window motor works fine its just the geared arm thats attached to the window has a few worn teeth, I just never got around to getting it fixed. Rear muffler has a crack at the weld, never affected anything so I let it be. The shift indicator "P R N D L S L" is off by a few millimeters, so when you're in drive you're in between "N" and "D". Also, when I was driving the car home from my aunt's house (with tires from the early 90s), the rear left tire blew out and when that happened a portion of the tire flew off and scratched the paint at the very bottom of the quarter panel, look at the pictures, it's small but I just want to be clear on everything. Lastly, the headliner is droopy. Other than that, this thing is as beautiful as they come! This is a car I'm going to miss, when I drive this car it feels like I'm sitting on a couch- thats on a cloud- thats on wheels- with stacks of solid gold bars in the trunk and money falling out of my pockets. I feel rich and classy even though I'm far from it. Since I've had this car it's been given many names such as: The Mint Mobile, Lil Avocado, The Green Machine, Luxury Lettuce, Cactus Coupe, Sweet Pea, The S.S. Shamrock, Mr. Pistachio, and The Grand Daddy haha, all names will be included with the sale of the car and you can call it what you will, but if you're the highest bidder you can call it Yours!
$500 deposit via Paypal is required at the end of auction, and full payment within 5 days.
