I found car sitting on blocks, in a warehouse, for over 25 years; with a new set of 1986 datedgood/yeartires. Previous lateowner rebuilt the engine and trans; and was just setting in car.Since carwas stored for so long, I pulled engine to check condition, and enginespecifications.Engine specifications checked out to a stock rebuild. At that time I installed the following,a newMelling M54DS oil pump, Melling oil pump rod, upper and lower oil dipstick tube stainless, newoil dipstick, timing chain double rollerComp Cams, stock flywheel, upgradedstock clutch RAMmuscle car series,1967 ram air exhaust manifolds w/ new studs, 2 1/2 inch 409 stainless duel exhaust w/h-pipe, walker quiet-flow mufflers stainless, new starter, custom made full starter shield stainless, alternator, coil flamethrower, battery, battery cables heavy duty, nos timing cover #9490347,a reproduction water pump, sent the original carburetor out, to a company in New Jersey, to be restored correctly, to ram airIII specs.; senttransmission out to professional Muncie restorer, nos yoke, new drive shaft, heavy duty spicer u-joints, #107A1 Hurst shifter master rebuild kit, Hurst shifter bushings & spring clips,#5324 shifter stick re-chrome plated, sent outdifferential, posi reconditioned, new alloy axles1541,bearings & seals, studs, new oe correct heavy duty coil springs Eaton Detroit (all 4),w/ new insolatorsKyb shocks (all 4), Stock rubber control arm bushings w/ nos bolts, new metallic brake shoes riveted, drums turned, wheel bearings frontTimken, wheel cylinders kit Delco Moraine, master cylinderreproduction, brake hoses & rear lines inlinetube, radiator hoses & clamps date coded, new fuel tank with new sending unit, new heater core, with ribbed hoses. nos lug nuts;and much muchmore. I will post Pontiac HistoricalSociety soon as I can. Car came from factorywith somepretty good options, including, Retractable Headlamp Covers, Tilt Steering Wheel, Power Steering, Deluxe Steering Wheel,Rally IIWheels, G77 x 14 Redline Tires, Power Top, Power Deck Lid Release, F-41Suspension Ride & Handling, Exhaust Tips, Floor Mats, Rally Gauges in dash Tachometer,Am Radio with 8-Track Tape Player (missing).( Also missingare original Air Cleaner, factory 9782482 Water Pump, Distributor Vacuum Control Switch & Hose Assembly.) I have the original#salternator, 1111449 distributor, and master cylinderthat go with car. All of the factoryhide-away headlight hoses & canister still on car. Vacuum switch is bad. Car runs, drivesout strait with no issues. Starts and idles perfect,( all lights, blinkers, key buzzer, tachometer, and gauges all work & horn)with the exception of the backup lights. Does not run hot, w/4 core dessert cooler radiator. I drive carlong distance in 90 degree weather,to shows all over Ohio, Pontiac Nationals and such, withno problems. Drivetrain has almost7,000 miles on rebuild, so its just broke in, with oil & filter changed every 500 miles. Drive as is or easy restor, as no rust repair, or drivetrain neede, so consider saving a lot ofmoney there.Car still has Lacquer Paint on it, all checked and cracked, andpresents well. Theramair decals were on it when I bought it. It as not a Ram Air car. although Warparth Pontiac makes the best Upper& lower air cleaner parts, to convert car over correctly. I have both stylesof hood scoops, the burgundy paintedfactoryhood scoops, and open Ram Air scoops, that will gowith car.In the past 8 years have only seen a few convertibles in this color combination. This GTO is well worth a concourse restoration.Only reason for selling is my daughter wants a automatic car. A 72WW5 or a 68 Ram Air II automaticGTOwould fit the bill. I Reserve to End Auction Early, as Car is For Sale Locally. Questions Please Email Thanks
