1968 Plymouth Barracuda B5 Chrysler Blue Additional Info:

The 1968 Barracuda coupe was painted B5 Mopar Blue some time ago but was recently color sanded and buffed to like-new condition. While there are some minor (very small) imperfections in the paint, it is in very nice shape. Wheels areUS Mags(Magnum-style) with high performance tires.

The 440-cid engine was completely rebuilt and bored 0.030-inch over by Precision Machine in nearby Santa Paula, California. The previous owner, Troy Martin topped the block with anEdelbrock Power Packtop end kit that includedEdelbrock RPM440-cid aluminum cylinder heads,Performerintake, and camshaft. The biggest change to driveability came with the installation of anMSD Atomic EFIunit that allows you to adjust the tune from inside the car with a remote programmer. AnMSD Billet 6ALbox fires the plugs, timing set at 14-degree initial, and 34 degrees all in. Estimates have the power set at close to 525 hp.

While the stock ’68 Mopar oil pan and windage tray are used, the headers are from TTI feeding and flowing exhaust to 2.5-inchDynamaxmufflers and glass-packs (OTCexhaust cut-outsallow you uncork the exhaust remotely with the flip of a switch under the dash). The camshaft gives the Barracuda a very lopey sound but the brakes are solid and assisted by an electric brake booster tucked under the fenderwell. TheChampion aluminum radiatorkeeps things cool enhanced with a pair ofFlex-a-lite fans.

The 1968 727 TorqueFlite transmission, reworked byHughes Performance, uses a 2,500-stall speed converter of the same make. AGear Vendorsoverdrive helps improve mileage when cruising flowing power back through a 3-inch diameter Driveshaft Pros driveshaft to theCurrie 8 3/4-inchrear end out-fit with 3.25:1 ratio gearing. Four-wheel disc brakes are used all around, ’74 Mopar A-Body slotted discs are used up front and Ford Explorer units out back. The handling is quite good but the suspension is stiff - just to be fair.Hotchkisupper and lower control arms, front and rear sway bars, one-inch diameter torsion bars,Eatonsprings andHotchkis shocksfinish off the chassis.
