2 Door Coupe. No Reserve

1962 Mercury Comet Additional Info:

No Reserve, last highest bid wins the car. Bought this car due to its over-all great condition and the fact that it had been is storage from 1974.
I hadn't seen one of these for years and thought it would be cool to have.We have the car running like a smooth watch by replacing the ignition parts and a new carb. Have videos of the car running. It is currently running off of an electric fuel pump and remote gas tank. Fuel lines are clean, and gas tank is empty. This engine does not smoke and idles perfectly. New tires all the way around and spare is in trunk. We checked all of the brakes and while there is new shoes all of the wheel cylinders and master cylinder will have to be replaced ($100). Unfortunately the Merc-O-Matic transmission did not take the storage too well. I have an estimate of $500 to $600 to totally rebuild it, but got to thinking maybe someone would prefer to spend the money on a small block V8 and trans, which will fit right in this engine bay and mounts. The Comet is basically the same engine bay dimensions as the 65-70 mustangs. This car would be an awesome gasser and unique hot rod, or just a cool car even with the six automatic. I purchased the only needed panel required (driver's side toe panel), all other rust areas are easy fixes and can be seen in the pictures. This really a clean over-all car. Also have a perfect replacement front drivers fender stainless trim spear. Electric fuel pump and remote tank do not go with car.Any questions call. William, 217-549-8114.
