1961 Mercedes-Benz Unimog S-404 Additional Info:

This vehicle served as a fire pumper truck in northern Germany in the 1960's - early 2000's and was exported to the USA in late 2004. I acquired it from a former neighbor in 2011 and have since worked to restore it to its near-original condition. It has been stored in a garage the entire time I have owned it. I have entered it in numerous car shows, parades, fire department open-houses and emergency equipment shows; it is always in demand. It's unique body style, glossy finish and large winch never fail to draw a crowd at these events. As a proud German-American who likes four-wheel drive vehicles, fire trucks and nearly all things German, this vehicle has been a joy to work with. I have purchased nearly all of my parts from Expedition Imports Corporation in Vallejo, CA. They have nearly everything for Unimogs.I have visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, the Unimog Museum in Gaggenau and other antique vehicle shows in Germany on multiple occasions and have seen many similar classic Mercedes vehicles on display. This Unimog could displayed in any of these venues in its current condition and would fit right in.
