1978 Mercedes-Benz Unimog 424 Additional Info:
This a very rare and unique 1978 Unimog 424. This truck has the medium speed axles and will travel on road at around 50MPH. Its also has a three-way tipper bed......again very rare for a Unimog. Normally these trucks have the slow axles and will only travel at 25-35MPH.
There is little to no rust in the body and under carriage. It was used a an actual work truck so its not going to win a Concourse Show Trophy but I'd leave the paint as it is and enjoy the truck. Would make for a really interesting rock crawler if you wanted to go that route. Would also make for a very handy and fun work truck at a large farm......or just a cool unit for a collection. Could also be used as a promotional vehicle for a business or God forbid if you are TN Volunteer/FL Gator/Auburn Tiger Fan you could take it to a tail gate and be the life of the losing party. GO DAWGS!
The truck runs and drives as it should with the 8 Speed Transmission and 6 Cylinder Diesel running smooth. The tires are at 85% Tread. The brakes on the truck are a little bit weak and probably need adjusted and serviced.
The wiring on the truck has a few minor issues (some lights don't work etc). Nothing that can't be fixed with a little patience (I have none) and six pack of beer (plenty of) and buddy (just enough) to drink it with.
The truck has hydraulic hook ups in the front as well as the mounting plate for implements (snow plow etc). There is also a set of hydraulic hook ups in the rear of the truck along with a massive hitch.
I'm in the process of getting the GA Title for the truck. It may or may not be back from the State by the time the truck sells but I will have the GA On Road Title that will transfer with the Bill Of Sale. We can assist on transport of the truck......its big and heavy so its not necessarily cheap to move.
Truck is for sale locally and we welcome inspections in person. Feel free to call at 706-878-0758
