Very nice, riginal, uper low-mileage W124 wagon in a rare, lassic color combination.

This wagon was special ordered by the original owner in August 1989 and picked up at the Mercedes-Benz factory at Sindelfingen that November via the European delivery program. The total cost was $46,977.

The car was then used quite sparingly at the owner’s vacation home in Pinehurst, orth Carolina, ntil January 2015, hen it was passed along to his son, Houston-area resident.

As a long-time Southern car, he wagon has not seen any salty roads or other harsh conditions, eeping it very well preserved despite its 25 years.

The original Smoke Silver (702) paint is in very good shape, ith a deep glossy shine. A few small blemishes have been touched up in places -- see photos for details.

All original glass and lenses in good shape.

Upgraded 16-inch Mercedes-Benz wheels, ecently refinished, ith new Michelin Premier tires. (Also included are the original 15-inch wheels in excellent original condition.)

Includes the original roof rack cross members, hough they are not shown in the photos.

Rare Medium Red (177) MB-tex seats in like-new condition.

Zebrano wood trim is excellent, ven on the shifter console where it often fades and cracks.

Upgraded Sony stereo with Bluetooth.

Original carpet and floormats in very good shape with no fading.

Perfect dash.

Rear-facing third-row seats seem never to have been used.

There is some puckering of the vinyl covering the B-pillars, common W124 issue (see photos).

The car runs and drives like a very low-mileage Mercedes should. It starts easily, akes great power, dles smoothly and almost silently, nd shifts well through all gears. Steering and suspension are both tight, nd the brakes are smooth and effective.

Within the last 6 months, have had the following work done:

  • Motor mounts

  • Flex disc

  • Front brake pads

  • EHA valve

  • Engine oil and filter

  • Transmission fluid and filter

  • Differential fluid

  • Power steering fluid and filter

Everything is in excellent working condition, ncluding the AC, ruise control and rear self-leveling system (SLS). One small issue is that the radio antenna does not fully retract; however, t does extend fully when the radio is on.

Reason for Sale

I purchased the car in October 2015 with the intent of using it primarily as a weekend car, ut an upcoming home remodel has caused me to re-evaluate and decide to sell.
