1977 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL
WILLIAMSBURG SPECIAL EDITION!!
Lincoln was one of the last manufacturers to keep their luxury liners as big as they could. Its amazing to think that these types of cars were common for everyday travel. I grew up riding in the back seats of these land yahts getting yelled at from my father to stop picking on my brother while holding in a vomit from being car sick. I am very fond of Lincolns because I like how they always made their cars bigger then life. You didn't just show up in a Lincoln, you arrived. As time carried on I always tried to find and buy these Lincolns, maybe because I am trying to buy my youth back. And the feeling never gets old because for every Lincoln I buy, I never get use to driving them and seeing that gigantic hood in front of me......it always reminds me of when I was a kid.
These Lincolns are becoming harder to find and are starting to creep up in value. Please read on about this 1977 Lincoln Continental - Williamsburg Edition and view the many pictures and video at the bottom. I hope you feel the same way I do about these cars and try to keep them rolling along.
Exterior:
The exterior is very original. From what I can tell the paint seems to be original. The video and pictures depict the condition, however, there are some surface rust spots and scratches on the vehicle. Very few dings. The brightwork is excellent for a car its age and the glass is all intact with no damage. The vinyl top is in excellent condition and looks to be original. The previous owner - which was the original owner, went nuts with the caulk. Preventive maintenance because there were no signs of water damage inside. 1 Hubcap doesn't match the rest. Also, the floors, frame and trunk pan are all solid. Please look at the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have.
Interior:
Interior is 100% original. The pictures show the wear in certain spots. Well above average for a 40 year old car. The radio works and the thermometer speedometer works well. The power driver's seat works, but the passenger doesn't. The switch works but I think you need to tap on the motors to free them up from not being used. The headliner is in excellent. The carpet is intact and the whole interior could use a cleaning. Please let us know of any questions you may have.
Drive-Train:
The original 400 cubic inch 2 bbl engine runs and sounds great. Starts right up and shift great. The tires are old and decent but do have some dry rotting. Safe for travel. The cruise control works. The a/c belt has been removed. For a 40 year old car it runs excellent. It also has dual exhaust and have glass packs.....sounds great. See the video of the vehicle in motion.
In summation.......this car is far from perfect but a great cruiser. I would love someone to buy this car and share the passion of this vintage luxury cars because they are just larger then life. When you see them now, they have a sort of ghostly appearance as they drive by low and slow. Please view the pictures and video and enjoy!!
