1985 Land Rover Defender Additional Info:

Putting up for auction our 1985 Land Rover Defender 110. We purchased the Rover from Arizona and from a British gentleman that imported it. We then shipped it Vermont and went through it top to bottom.
Our 110 runs, drives, and looks great. It is used often and completely reliable. We have taken it on multiple 2-3 hour trips and back and it has been fantastic.
Exterior

The 110 has been repainted at some point years ago in a deeper and more metallic blue than the original blue. It still looks great but does show some wear. We purchased 5 Rover Boost wheels and had 4 of them powder coated and new tires were installed. We do have the 5th wheel that needs to be painted and a tire purchased. It can then be mounted to the new rear tire carrier we just installed. We also mounted the LED top lights and the front mounted fog lights.
Mechanical
New original heavy duty Rover springs and shocks were installed from Rovers North. We adjusted the valves, and a new timing belt was installed. The brakes were gone through at this time as well. All fluids were changed and inspected.
Interior
The interior has the original type seats and are in great condition. We added a Bluetooth Alpine CD player to the nice speaker system that was already in place.

All of this has been done in the last 2 years and 3000 miles. We have other house and Rover projects to tend to and this is the reason for the sale. We are offering this Rover at no reserve. This 110 has all the look but not the super high level of finish that demands the big bucks. This is a very nice driver that we have been proud to own.
Thanks!

Hello and thanks for writing. That is a great question. The original engine would have been a 2.5 turbo I believe and not a 200 Tdi. That said, I have no record of the engine swap. This is partly why we did a timing belt as soon as we got it. The engine runs and operates flawlessly.

Do you know when did the engine swap to the tdi took place? And is that 177k miles on the new motor? Thanks.

Also, the miles stated are the total on the odometer. So, so many upgrades including the engine swap have been done. I will get engine pictures up today. Thanks!
