1963 Ford Falcon Falcon Futura Additional Info:
We are very pleased to present this early 63 Falcon Futura Sprint. When we got it the car was VERY straight and had no damage whatsoever and is an unmolested original body and drive train wise. It came from the factory in San Jos, Ca. to DSO 71 which is LA. The car has been a West Coaster it's entire life and it shows. I couldn't find but two TINY pinholes on the driver side rear fender lip and I have no idea how they got there because there is zero rust around them. I included a floor pan pic for reference but holy cow....the Futura is CLEAN! Vin 3(1963) R (San Jose, Ca. 19 (2 door)F(260 Challenger v8) 155955 production number. Since the body appears to have never been wrecked or crunched anywhere we went with Raven Black. We used 3 coats of Nasson black base coat and 4 coats of Euro Glamor 7500 clear coat. It was sanded and buffed to a high shine using 2000 grit and 4 stage polishing .I know, it's ballsy but hey, it 's BEAUTIFUL and straight .The interior is redone in black with new black headliner, seats, carpet, and replacement door and quarter upholstery. The original dash pad has two small cracks but i chose not to replace it just yet. The factory radio is intact and the secret audio is in the glove box with remote. It's bucket seat console setup is VERY nice and comfortable. There are lap belts front and rear. The headliner is gorgeous and the dome light works. UNDER the dash looks like new . The dash bezel plastic is spider webbed a bit and could stand to be replaced. The body chrome is excellent with the exception of light pitting below the Futura emblems on the upper quarters and light pitting on the hood accent, The bumpers are brand new triple chrome and gorgeous as well. While replacing and installing the new bumpers and chrome we had zero bolts break off due to rust and the car is in VERY good shape. We installed a new shaded windshiel, gasket, and wipers. The bright work around the glass is spectacular and original. The car is a very nice ride. The engine had hardened seats and a new timing belt installed even though it has only 71k miles, new fuel filter, new air cleaner, flushed master cylinder and new brakes. The radiator seems to keep it cool but I added a shroud for summer driving. It runs exceptionally well! There is no play in the steering and it tracks awesome down the freeway or around town. The car is a manual steering, manual brake car.The wheels and tires are 15" eagle alloys with custom paint and FORD centers 15x8.The tires are new 215-60R15 on the rear and 185-65R15 in the front and match up really well and there is a matching spare in the trunk.. The front is lowered an inch. It has dual flowmaster mufflers and an Edelbrock 1406 4 barrel carb with electric choke mounted on a factory 4V cast iron intake. Sounds and runs great! All in all it's rare because it's a very early 260 V8 car and only a very few 63's had it. It was not until 63 1/2 when the notchback got the Challenger V8 in the Futuras. This is the only one I have seen so I HAD to restore the paint etc. It's very comfortable to drive freeway or city. Starts instantly and the choke is set for the Pac NW.
