1970 Ford F-100 Additional Info:

Factory-correct two-tone paint, the original 302 V8 under the hood, and a manual transmission - is this 1970 Ford F-100 a vintage restored pickup or a well maintained muscle car at a value price? The answer is basically both. There was some serious money spent restoring this pickup back to 1970 status, but they also started in the right place. The Sport Custom package on the F-100 came with some added bright trim, which makes for a great separation line in between the Royal Maroon and Wimbledon White (yes, the color everyone loves on the Mustang is part of this sporty pickup, too!) It has the kind of luster that you know can only come from a modern clearcoat. Add in the chiseled good looks and a sporty demeanor from the short wheelbase model, this truly lives up to the Sport badging. Of course what really sets this pickup apart are the fundamentals. These were built to be workhorses, so it's amazing to find one that has all those decades of 9 to 5 erased. All the bright trim, chrome bumpers, and later model F-series polished wheels give this one have a true upscale appearance. But just because this F-100 is now a premium pickup, doesn't mean it sits out the workday. The spray-in bed liner can handle more than just your weekend projects without showing any harm.Comfort Weave seats with coordinating black door trim and floor covers, that's another hallmark of the Sport Custom package. Just like the exterior, there was an investment in making sure this felt like a 1970 time capsule. That means the correct Ford steering wheel with stylized center horn half-ring. The original dash was retained, and it looks awesome with that cool oval-shaped instrument cluster that's pure vintage. The same goes for the hear/defrost sliders, vent windows, and the column-mounted manual shift. In fact, the only piece that's not factory is the upgrade to an AM/FM/cassette player, which just seems like a practical way to be more adaptable to modern music players.Just as specified on the VIN, this one received the optional 302 cubic-inch V8 at the factory, and 45+ years later, that block still is in the engine bay. It still looks quite original right down to the correct blue air cleaner and valve covers. The tidy wires and hoses let you know there has been careful maintenance and plenty of consideration for this V8 during restoration. The motor runs extremely well, delivering a good wallop of low-end torque with a crisp V8 burble from the dual exhaust. Pickups were not meant to deliver the same all-out performance that the famous 302 does in sports cars like the Mustang, but with the full control provided by the three speed manual, this F-100 is no slouch when you want to have some muscle car fun. On the road, Ford's famous twin I-beam front suspension maximizes comfort without sacrificing utility, and there's nice modern grip provided by the full set of Goodyear Wrangler HT tires.Make sure you look over the undercarriage pictures, too. That way you understand the level of investment into every inch of this pickup. Now you know the appeal is more than just skin deep. Solid vintage trucks like this don't wait long in our showroom.
