1986 Mustang SVO, last year for the SVO after a three year production run. SVO Mustangs were Ford specialty divisions(Special Vehichle Operations) first attempt at the evolved/special mustang besides the regular procuction Mustangs. SVO upgrades include hurst shifter with leather knob,five(5) lug wheels,four wheel disc brakes(first time ever on a production Mustang),Koni adjustable shocks,different spring rates and larger sway bars, and a turbo charged 2.3 litre four(4) cylinder engine producing 200 HP and 240 ft/lbs of torque, very respectable numbers for the era. The SVO Mustang filled a niche in the market at that time which today we are seeing more and more of, small displacement forced induction engines, this layed the groundwork for future models, and production Foxbody Saleen Mustangs used lots of SVO parts in building the 87-93 Saleen Mustangs. The SVO Mustangs now have a very loyal following among enthusiasts and collectors. Nice,clean original Foxbody Mustangs are becoming increasingly hard to find and are a sound investment.
The 1986 SVO offered here is a all original 30K mile, three(3) owner example, and is 1 of 72 produced in 7B Dark Shadow Blue, over gray cloth interior.
