1936 Cord 810 Westchester Sedan Additional Info:

This auction is for a 1936 Cord 810 Westchester Sedan that has been certified by the
Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Club as being the genuine article. This is one of the earlier cars with the coolant and engine oil fill ports in the cowl under the right side cowl vent cover. The Cord was way ahead of it’s time and the Gordon Beuhrig design was very sleek and aerodynamic and is considered one of the most beautiful cars of all time. Innovations included front wheel drive, retractable headlights, uni-body construction, no running boards and an electric-pneumatic shift mechanism for the 4 speed transmission

This is an original car and mostly complete—the only things I know that are missing is the Cord crest for the transmission cover, a couple of hubcaps and the end caps for the rear bumper. The car was last licensed in 1951 and has been in indoor storage since that time. It is not running and will need a complete restoration. The engine is an original Lycoming series FB V-8, but not the one that originally came in the car. This engine was installed sometime prior to 1949. The engine block will need some repair and is shown in one of the pictures. The photos show the engine out of the car, but it is in the car at this time.

This is a very solid car with no significant damage. The only major rust I have found is the front floorboard and the front of the fenders where the bumper attaches. Photos also show this damage.I have another set of fenders that are included and can be used to repair the existing fenders or restored and used themselves.I also have some other extra parts and documentation that are included in the purchase.

The Auburn Automobile Company only produced about 1300 of the Westchester Sedans in 1936 and 1937, so this is a very rare car. This is a unique opportunity to own a piece of automobile history at a reasonable price. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by.

There is a clear California title. The car is located in Santa Maria, California and is being sold as is, where is. A non-refundable down payment of $500 is required at the close of the auction payable by paypal and balance due within 7 days payable by Cashiers Check or Wire Transfer. I will surrender the car once your funds clear my bank. The buyer assumes all responsibility for transportation after purchase and must be removed with 30 days unless other arrangements are made. The car is also listed locally and I reserve the right to cancel this auction early. I will gladly answer any questions.
