I am not going to write an ad that gives you all the facts about what a Cord is because if you are looking at this ad and have interest in this car you surely know the story already.
What you are looking at is my matching engine 1936 Cord 810 Westchester. It also retains its 1936 step bored Lockheed brakes. The terrific thing about this car is how well preserved the body is. It was never a rotted out basket case car. When I opened up the doors I was shocked to see how beautiful the insides of the doors were. I have taken pictures of all this to illustrate the point. This is a functional drivable car. Most of the time you find a Cord, they have sat up for a large period of time and are not at all roadworthy. This car was drivable when I purchased it and I have improved on that over the years.
Take a close look at the pictures. You will notice that the doors on the car are not bloated out with bondo and filler and lines still remain correct. When you shut the doors they are solid and correct.
As I am sure I will be asked, why am I selling the car? I have 3 cords, an s/c phaeton, s/c Westchester and the car you are looking at. I simply do not need that many along with the many other cars that we have. I am not a car dealer but I am a car collector! I do not have to sell the car, I have been on the fence about it for a year and finally decided to do so. If you want to talk about Cords or make me an offer, call me. I dont need any low ballers or help selling her though.
Let’s go down the list
Engine- fires right up and does not smoke. All fresh plugs and tune up.This is the original engine and as I stated it was running when I purchased it. I do not know when it was rebuilt, but it does not smoke and performs as it should. It has fantastic oil pressure on start up and when warmed up.
Carb EE15 completely rebuilt and serviced
Transmission- Shifts through all gears. The shift selector harness is all new and the shift mechanism has been completely rebuilt.
Drive axles- the drive axles have been completely taken apart and resealed in 2016
Tires are brand new Coker Radials
Brakes are whitepost sleeved and installed in 2016
Parking brake cables are all new
Window and regulators have all been rebuilt in all door, all side glass is new
Body- overall very good, some nicks and touch ups but a very respectable driver.
Interior has been redone at some time and still holds up well. The door panels are very possibly original!
