1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Additional Info:

Numbers matching 69 Camaro SS 350 (X55) with 4 speed manual and 3:31 Positraction rear end. Protect-O-Plate. The Flowmaster exhaust, coupled with the aggressive cam provides that lumpy muscle car idle and delightful rumble of a bygone era. This is a very good quality driver showing some wear from the past 13 years when a cosmetic makeover was undertaken.Radio delete car. Nicely equipped with the front and rear spoiler, console with gages, tachometer, clock, standard interior, and (the somewhat rare) folding rear seat.

Major equipment on the car is in good working order including all exterior lights, turn signals, emergency flashers, brake lights, headlights (high and low beam), side marker lights, low and high speed wipers, windshield washer, heater/defroster, horn, door locks and latches, brakes, steering, clutch, transmission. Known defectsinclude a small dent on the drivers side rear corner behind the bumper, dash lights for the heater controls don't illuminate, drivers side floor/dash vent stuck open, rear window regulators worn but working.

Major features include:

  • Front and rear spoiler
  • Console with gages
  • Tachometer
  • Clock
  • Standard interior
  • (Rare) folding rear seat
  • Edlebrock intake manifold
  • Holley 650 cfm double pumper
  • Solid state distributor
  • steel (non-functional) cowl induction hood

Engine rebuilt in 2000at which time the engine was bored (0.030) and honed along with many new parts. Documentation is available. A solid-state distributor replaced the original point system.

The head stamp numbers on the engine indicate it was built in December 1968 and is the 300 hp 350. The VIN indicates a January 69 build (Norwood, OH). This is a numbers matching car and I believe the entire drive train to be original to the car.

A frame - on cosmetic restoration completed in 2002, (documentation is available), including:

  • replaced rear quarters
  • left door skin
  • bottoms of both front fenders
  • new paint in the original Lemans Blue/addition of white stripes

In 2010, interior replaced, (documentation available), including:

  • head liner
  • door panels
  • rear side panels
  • dash pad
  • seat covers, (front seats were rebuilt with new padding and repairs to the springs)
  • seat backs
  • dome light
  • clock
  • kick panels
  • console
  • console gage cluster cover
  • carpet
  • package shelf
  • steering wheel
  • other minor items
  • trunk refinished using correct spatter paint, clear coated for durability.

Along with small repairs (windshield washer, horn, fuel filter, etc.), other more significant repairs and restoration efforts include:

  • new solid state distributor
  • rebuilt carburetor
  • new battery
  • outsidereview mirrors
  • re-chromed bumpers front and rear
  • new rear bumper guards
  • new door handles
  • new wheels and tires
  • new gas tank
  • new window and door seals
  • new chrome bezels for the side marker lights
  • new SS badges front and back

Wheels are 17x8 American Racing Torque Thrust with 225/50R17 tires, maintaining the overall diameter of the factory F70-14 wheels and tires so the speedometer reads correctly. The paint still has good gloss after 15 years, the stainless is all present and accounted for and is in good condition. I also believe all glass is original to the car.All documentation mentioned above is included in the sale. Sale also includes the Fisher Body Service Manual, Chassis Service Manual and the Camaro Assembly Manual.
