1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Additional Info:

When was the last time you saw a truly fire-breathing classic street rod that looked this good for under $40K? With a 600 hp 462 cubic-inch big block, five-speed, and a beefy rear end, this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle needed to make sure the taillights looked good because that's all most people will ever see.The way this car looks is no joke, and the investment in time and money is obvious everywhere you look. If you're a fan of the early Chevelle style with its beautiful flying buttress C-pillars and simple, unadorned body, then this car might ring all the right bells. Nothing was modified or deleted, but it received a lot of care during the build with straight quarter panels, good gaps, and, of course, the Root Beer Brown paint that makes for the perfect canvas to showcase all those artistic flames. With a brilliant metallic shine, the car has a great presence in the sunlight, and it's set off by the towering cowl-induction hood that even announces the big block underneath. And because this one looks ready to be the king of the street or dragstrip, it has 15-inch Weld Pro Star wheels, and the rear end is mini tubbed to fit the wide rear set.A car this custom and outrageous on the outside makes sure that the attitude continues inside, too. It starts with the ostrich pattern tan leather seats with piping to match the exterior brown. This cool material is repeated on the door panels, and even the dash has the coordinating colors. When you sit down, you instantly realize this car means business. Your left hand grabs the grippy three-spoke steering wheel, and your right one will never want to leave the Keisler floor shifter. The original horizontal speedometer has been expertly replaced with a complete set of AutoMeter Ultra-Lite gauges, including the large speedo and tach. All of this give you the impression of some serious power, but the real confirmation comes when you turn the key and hear the roar as you awaken the beast under the hood. Before we go though all the performance upgrades to this big block, take a moment to enjoy how well the whole package has been put together. Painted fender wells, steel-braided hoses, polished pulleys, tidy belts, and of course, the beautiful flaming valve covers you're going to win awards with this alone. But underneath all this flash is the substance of a big block 454 enlarged to 462 cubic-inches. The V8 was balanced and blueprinted as well as treated to performance upgrades that include, a Quick Fuel 750 four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Victor High-Rise intake, and custom long-tube headers that connect to a performance H-pipe exhaust. The total package is rated at around 600 hp, and you have complete control thanks to the five-speed manual transmission. But more than just big power, it can reliably maintain peak performance thanks to components like the MSD ignition, aluminum radiator, and dual electric fans. With this kind of power easily on tap, the suspension and drivetrain were upgraded to make this car perform at its best. Up front is a tubular A-arm independent front suspension. In the rear is a beefy four-link with diagonal bar. This helps support the Moser axle, Eaton 3:73 rear end, and extra wide Mickey Thompson tires. In the trunk there's even a fuel cell and the battery for better safety and weight distribution. Staying in control of this street-eating package is easy thanks to power steering and four-wheel disc brakes. Not subtle, but a wonderful blend of hardcore performance and show car glamour, this Chevelle is going to attract a crowd. That's why you also get the restoration photos and receipts to show off. The only thing quicker than the car is how fast this deal will leave our showroom. Call today!!!
