Have some fun this summer! Cruise with your girl down Highway 101 to check the sunset, take the kids for Ice Cream, win a trophy at any Car Show you go to, or just hit the beach with the whole family. This car is ready to show and enjoy the day that you get it. It is an absolutely beautiful 1949 Chevrolet Fleetline Fastback Street Rod that has a body-off restoration with a ton of tasteful modifications done and is turnkey, ready to go. If you are tired of looking at overpriced junk, you will need to see this one in person to truly appreciate just how nice it is. You could look for years to find another one this good and you certainly could not come close to building it for what you can buy this one for today.
I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere as the 49 has been upgraded in nearly every area. I have had a ton of old Hot Rods over the years and this is probably the best driving one I have ever driven. It has been driven 30,000 trouble free miles since the resto was completed. The car never gets hot even in Southern California traffic. It always runs about 160-180 with the big new radiator and has an auxiliary electric fan although it never really needs it. It has a Small Block Chevy crate motor in the beautifully detailed engine compartment with a mild cam, headers, Serpentine one-belt system, and is mated to a 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission. It is fast, fun, and extremely smooth. With the overdrive, it only runs at about 2200 RPMs even out on the freeway. You can cruise it at 70 MPH with one finger. The exhaust has a good tone to it and sounds great when you jump on it but driving around town or cruising the highway it is relatively quiet. It has power steering with tilt wheel, 11 inch HydroBoost power front disc brakes, Mustang II front clip with new coil-overs in the front. New shocks and springs in the rear. Ford 9 inch rearend. The car has been mini-tubbed and has 12.5 Mickey Thompson tires mounted on polished American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels. It certainly gives it that look and attitude everybody wants.
The Teal Pearl paint and the body itself are absolutely gorgeous. The car is completely rust free and arrow straight. The finish on the paint is like glass. The fit and finish are excellent. The undercarriage is excellent. The chrome was recently re-done. Shaved door handles with remote door poppers which work well. Remote trunk and hood releases. One off custom all metal hood scoop that was extremely well integrated and looks factory. The custom interior is very nice and super comfortable. It still retains a full back seat. Mustang power seats, AutoMeter gauges, custom center console with B&M shifter, tilt wheel, custom stereo with 10 disc changer that sounds excellent. It even has speakers on the back of the rear view mirror. The custom 1950 Oldsmobile one piece windshield is covered by a factory style visor. Power windows that work very well. Custom carpeted trunk area with battery cut off switch in the trunk. New Optima battery. It has the vents for Vintage AC in the console but the AC system was never installed since air conditioning is not really a necessity in San Diego where it is usually about 70 degrees most of the time.
Clean, clear California title in hand with 2020 tags. All in all, you will have an extremely difficult time finding a cleaner one anywhere. It is far nicer than most of them that are out there. You see a 1955, 1956, or a 1957 Bel Air at every show. When was the last time you saw one like this? I would consider doing some horsetrading for an old Hot Rod, Muscle Car, or Corvette. I am located in Cardiff, CA in North County Coastal San Diego. Inspections in person are encouraged. Thanks and good luck!
