1979 CHEVY SUBURBAN 4X4 "454"

1979 Chevrolet Suburban SILVERADO Additional Info:

Outstanding for its age this 1979 Chevy K2500 Suburban 4X4 equipped with a 4 bolt main steel crank 454 and 9:1 forged pistons and good flowing oval port heads and mild RV cam is one to to take a close look at.
Has about 32K on the total rebuild. Backed up by a TH400 (rebuilt about 60K ago) and the 208 transfer case. Axles have 3.73 gears. Hubs in front are manual.
Very nice interior with 3rd seat and includes p/w, pdl, tilt, cruise and front and rear A/C. and never smoked in! Just spent $1500 on the A/C system which now runs on R134a. Rear unit disconnected due to a blown flex line.
The body on this suburban is also extra nice with only a few minor scratches and dents. There is no rust in the usual areas on these models as you can see from the photos. The frame and floors are also rust free. The paint is solid urathane and no pealing clear coat! It was painted about 23 years ago and still looks very sharp.
This unit has always been very well maintained and has had recent major brake work. Rear brakes are the 13" HD brakes.
Runs and drives superb and has the aftermarket "soft Ride" front springs, far better then the factory units.
This suburban has been in the same family since 1985 and I personally have driven and been a passenger in it for many 1000's of miles over the years. I also rebuilt the transmission using only the finest parts a number of years ago.
The suburban passed the Portland Oregon DEQ test 2 years ago. PLEASE NOTE to interested buyers in California..... Please check with your local DEQ to see if this unit can be brought into your area!
