1938 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:

1938 Chevrolet Running Pickup Truck, super original or rod ride.Truck cab has no rust, and is one of the best I have seen. The 216 straight six motor starts and seems to run okay. The truck moves forward in all three gears and in reverse, but not ready to hit the road. The exhaust pipe is solid back to the muffler, but the muffler is history. The brakes require a few pumps to stop; hole in front hose.Radiator is hole free, although hoses seep some antifreeze.Door glasses are good and roll down.Windshield is cracked badly, but does crank out for added air flow.Windshield frame has some rust towards left bottom corner. The cowl vent opens and closes.Driver's door has rust near the bottom, but passenger's door is very good. Both doors shut and latch well. The bed box is 87 inches and the truck's wheelbase is 122.Door panels and floor panel are original metal and are in good shape, as are threaded sscrew holes. The instrument cluster is intact, but speedometer needle has fallen off.A small area on bottom of tailgate has some rust. The bedsides are very straight. The fenders are battered, but do not have rust. Both running boards are in great condition, however the left one has some tar on it, but no rust anywhere.Gas tank was coated a few years ago, but the sending unit was toast. The headlight buckets have no rust, but one lens is gone. The seats' materials are gone, but seat frames and springs are usable.I have a new tinted back glass and gasket that will be included with the purchase. Also, I have both bumpers from (I think) another pickup of this era, but chrome is very bad and they're crusty. This truck is located near Wellington, Kansas.
The title is clear and this truck could be tagged and put on the road in Kansas; no vehicle inspections required. It was last tagged in western Kansas in 1961.
This truck is quite solid.
