1938 Chevy Chevrolet Truck/Pickup
I have for sale, at no reserve, a very cool and completely original 1938 Chevrolet. This truck was purchased from a local farm here in Kansas, and from what I am told, spent it's entire life there. This was purchased from an estate sale, the owner had passed away and the location of the title went with him, so this truck will be sold with a State of Kansas bill of sale, and no title.
First of all, this truck is very straight. It does have a few of the typical dings you would expect from a nearly 80 year old vehicle, but overall is very nice.
This 38 is nearly rust free. The only rust I have seen on this truck is along the bottoms of the doors - as you can see in the pictures. Everything else appears to be rock solid. There are two holes you can see in the floor in the pictures, these are not rust. It appears the floorboard came out of a truck with the master cylinder for the brakes in a different location so they cut another hole to add brake fluid. The floorboard does fit correctly. I took the seat out so you could see the entire inside of the truck. I have the original seat, and it goes with the truck, although it will obviously need to be re-upholstered. I also took two of the rear wheels and put on the front, as the front tires wouldn't hold air. It now rolls fine and the other two wheels also go with the truck.
I believe the drivetrain is all original, judging by its appearance. The engine will turn over because we put the truck in gear and used the engine to slow down the truck when we rolled it off the trailer. The engine is complete and in tact, but other than that, the condition is unknown. Obviously the brakes are going to need work after sitting for years.
The doors on this truck shut like new ones (maybe better) but the latch is sticky on passenger side and sometimes a little hard to get open. Windows roll up and down, tracks just need lubed up. Side windows are broken but front and rear glass is in good shape. The bed is not a dump bed, and is merely held on by a few u-bolts around the frame - so this would be easy to remove if you don't want it. This is just a really original, unique old truck, even the knobs on the dash are still there.
Hopefully between the pictures and my description you know what you need to about this truck, but if you have any questions at all pleasecall Cort at 620-786-5172. I will be happy to answer any and all questions. Feel confident in bidding as I have 100% positive feedback, and I want to keep it that way. Thank you and good luck.
Two things I forgot to mention, we have equipment to load and will help anyway possible, and this truck hauls very easy as I hauled it home on a 16ft car trailer.
