1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 210 Additional Info:

To start with this is a very imperfect but honest old car. A car with squeeks, rattles, dings, and scratches. But this is a car you can enjoy from the moment you bring it home, just turn the key and go. Most of what you are looking at has survived this way from the 1970's when you could pay $79 for a quick paint job. The paint has several layers, and other than my numerous touch ups it was all done decades ago. I buffed and shined it to this point and added hand painted pinstriping and lettering "North Pole Surf Club". The engine is a low miles 350 with electronic ignition and new dual exhaust. The transmission is a turbo 350 installed at the same time. It could use a pan gasket, it does leave a spot on the floor. Shifts firm and dependable and has a transmission cooler. Engine and trans. were installed with an Ecklers crossmember and front motor mounts to stock location. Upholstery is very basic black vinyl. It has a few small tears and cracks down low near the crease that I couldn't pick up with my camera. Probably caused by screwdrivers in pockets, it is a Hot Rod after all. Has patches in 2 spots that I have pictured but really isn't that bad. The headliner sags a bit and has wrinkles. Carpet is new, When I bought the car it had no carpet and I was sold un the fact that it had nice unrepaired floors. It also has nice unrepaired headlight eyebrows. Windshield has two rock stars, and scratches from bad wiper blades. All windows go up and down but are a little hazy due to age. Wheels are original ET 5 spokes on radial T/A's. Headlights, turn signals, break lights and wipers all work. The turn signals need to be cancelled by hand. Gas gauge works, and has a new sending unit. The speedometer only works periodically and is inaccurate, so I put a Garmin GPS unit on the dash plugged into the cigarette lighter. Works perfect as a speedometer and is included in this sale. The car has an under chassis LED lighting system. Many colors, and they can dance around if you choose. Or leave them off.
Personally I think the next few things that should be addressed on the car are...1. New or repaired rear bumper and plating, does not look bad at a distance but is very worn and the passenger side end piece is tweeked.2. A new windshield, the current windshield is perfectly legal and functional but does not compliment the car.3. Weather stripping, the car has lived in a dry climate most of it's life and all of the weather stripping is brittle.
I had plans for this wagon to pull a vintage trailer, but I have too many cars and not enough indoor storage. It is located in Spokane Washington. I am starting the auction at $8,500 which is much less than my investment. If for some reason it does not sell come to the Early Ford V8 swap meet in Monroe Washington the first week in October. You can buy it there.I require a $1000 non refundable deposit through paypal immediately at auction close. And the balance is due within 7 days of auction close. Cash is preferred but other forms are at the buyers discretion. All payments will need to clear my bank in full before the title or automobile will leave my possession. Sometimes this takes a couple weeks. This auction is for local pick-up. But if the buyer wishes for this car to be shipped I will assist in any way I can to help. But arrangements and payment will need to be made by the buyer. All questions are welcome and encouraged, cars are complicated and I am sure I missed something. Thanks for looking...Dan
