1956 Chevrolet 210 Townsman Townsman Additional Info:
We are downsizing so up for auction is my1956 Chevy 210 Station Wagon (Townsman) This is a very straight car that is solid and has a really nice quality paint (Nassau Blue/Ivory), No orange-peel, very smooth. I bought this car 17 years ago in Indiana and drove it home to Missouri. It has never been licensed or driven much, other than in the neighborhood. It has been stored in my heated garage the entire time. Since it hasn't been driven much in 17 years, it may not be road worthy for a long trip. I was informed by the previous owner that I am the third owner and the odometer has not turned over. He said at the time I purchased it that the paint was done 20 years prior, leaving it to be around 37 years old. There is some bubbling rust showing on the rockers and doors which I believe to be surface rust and could be fixed pretty easily (see pics). Floorboards and spare tire well are solid. The drive train is factory stock; 265 V8 auto Power glide. No power options. The seats/doors were custom-upholstered in black diamond-tuck prior to my purchasing it.. Quality work and in great condition. Hub caps are Hollywood "flippers" that look great on this car, with the fender skirts. There is no headliner and wind lace is worn. Has not been smoked in since I have had it and no indication it was by the previous owner either. Some chrome has been replaced with re-manufactured and some is original which has some pitting. Gas gauge in not accurate. Has an aftermarket radio with cassette player, radio works but cassette player does not. Clear Title. The parts listed below have been installed over the 17 years which may or may not be considered new but since it hasn't been driven much, I feel it to be new.Shocks front and rear.
Brakes shoes front and rear (front has new springs and adjusters)
Rear wheel cylinders.
Rebuilt steering box
Plywood decking installed in the rear.
Front tapered wheel bearings and spindles conversion.
Powder coated original air breather, valve covers, steering box. (original air breather seems to be clogged causing the car to run rich, when I removed it, it smoothed out)
Tail gate cable and take-up reels have been installed.New front door glass/window replaced on both drivers and passenger side in 2016.
New tires installed in July 2017. (Most pics show the old tires that were white walls, additional pic shows new tires which are not white walls)
New muffler and tailpipe installed in July 2017.Fresh rebuilt carburetor July 2017.
