Our 1949 Chevy was built in 2005 by a professional body shop in NY. The body is all GM steel except the fiberglass rear fenders. The top has been chopped about 5”. It has an operating sun roof and the cowl vent operates as originally designed. The shop used a 1970’s Nova donor car for the front frame clip to include the power steering and power front disc brakes. They also used the Nova’s, 10 bolt, 3:08 gear rear end and front & rear sway bars. The shop installed a GM ZZ4, aluminum head, 355HP crate engine, Edelbrock 600 carb. B&M TH 350 trans & cooler. It has an aluminum radiator and an original type GM interior box heater that works just fine! It has a 16 gallon, between the frame, rear mounted metal fuel tank with inside bed access. It has an Alpine head unit with 4 speakers and optional remote control. The bed is covered with a hinged one piece rigid fiberglass bed cover that hides the polished aluminum diamond plate bed floor and full sized spare tire/wheel. The purple graphics and pin striping was done by “Batts” out of NY. The other graphics....Cherokee Proud, Slacker, Princess and my blue haired avatar was done by Donnie Strother.
