1967 Buick Skylark Convertible
Vehicle Information
I'm proud to offer for your consideration this beautiful 1967 Buick SkylarkConvertible. This '67 model comes from the last year of the first generation Skylark. The car was offered in coupe, convertible, 4 door sedan, and hard top variants, with the convertible being the most sought after and valuable edition. With just 6319 made I can't imagine to many have made it 50 years and still look like this one. The car would be great to take to shows or just go out for a cruise on a beautiful day. The current owner, just the third owner of this classic, is in the rainy northwest and doesn't get to enjoy the car the way she wishes she could, so has decided to let someone else enjoy it instead of it sitting in storagemost of the time.
The current owner purchased this beauty from a vintage car dealer in Portland called Mathew's Memory Lane two years ago. The purchase was an impulse buy, driven partly by the fact that her Father whograduated in 1967 wanted to purchase a new Skylark Convertible but was steered to a more practical sedan by her Mother. She was told the originalowner lived in Seattle and built a large collection of classics before he passed away and left the collection to his brother. The brother sold most of the cars in the Seattle area but a few he sold to this reputable Portland dealer.
The current owner is by no means a mechanic and was less concerned about what motor was in the car and if it was original than she was about how beautiful the car is and how it drove. She's done nothing mechanically to the car other than a tune up. I can tell by the pictures the car appears to have a new water pump and fairly new hoses. She wasn't sure on the engine size but someresearch I've done based on casting numbers on the exhaust manifold lead me to be pretty sure this is a 300 that would of been standard on the car in 67 and is likely the original motor. If numbers matching originality is important in your buying decision I would recommend you get the car inspected to verify any drivetrain numbers.
The car starts up wonderfully and gets many compliments every time it gets taken out. To the best of her knowledge the car is all original and stock, except the Edelbrock 1406 carb and air cleaner. Data plate shows midnight blue paint with blue trim from factory so again the car appears to be a wonderful original example of this fine convertible. Actual miles is of course unknown but it's reported the original owner/collector drove the car very little. The original AM radio works and the interior has a few blemishes you would expect in an original 50 yr old classic. The steering wheel is cracked and the PRNDL plate is missing. (see picture) Also the drivers armrest needs replaced. I might add the steeringwheel crack iscosmetic only anddoesn't effect the steering of the car.
I try to give cars Iauction complete and detailed descriptions. Our cars are always available for inspection. If you have a question please ask before purchasing the car. You'll always get full honest answerswhich eliminates any possible issues after the sale. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime if an offer isaccepted so be sure to let your interest be known early if you want to own the Skylark Convertible.
