1948 Buick Super Convertible Two Door Additional Info:

Absolutely stunning 1948 Buick Super convertible. All original and looks as it would have in 1948. I purchased this car in February 2015 from a classic auto dealer who had received it from a client in California. It had been in his private collection for many years. I had the vehicle professionally inspected and can provide that report to serious bidders. In full disclosure, the car shook badly when letting out the clutch when I first received the car. The report says it drove fine. I had a new clutch put in and had the gear box and rear end completely rebuilt only to find out that a bolt had shaken loose on the Bell Housing during transport, which put the drive line in a bind. They put a bolt back in and wallah, it's been perfect ever since. I guess checking the easy stuff first would have been better. It also has a new battery and rebuilt generator. I also just replaced all the tires and they have about 10 miles on them. The lever shocks are in great condition and do not leak. The interior is in beautiful condition as is the top, which I just had redone professionally. I also had the convertible top scissorbars all re chromedas well as the interior trim. I also had dings repairedon the front headlight bezels and other stainless parts. While they were polishing stainless, I also had them do the front grill. There was a little blistering of the paint on the hood, door pods and right front fender, so last spring, I had those areas professionally painted and it came out great. The shop I had paint it specializes in classics and the shop owner was amazed by the condition of the car. He said there had never been rust repair or damage anywhere on the car. It's like the car has been in a time capsule. The dealer I bought the car from told me it had been in a private museum since the early 80's, but I can't confirm that. The only thing I can think of that doesn't work is the old tube radio radio. It comes on, but does not pick up stations. The car comes with two boots. A vinyl boot for everyday driving and a canvas boot that matches the top for show. You may wonder why I would part with this beauty. Well, I just bought another convertible and I don't need two convertibles. It's easy to imagine yourself back in 1948 cruising down country roads in this Harley Earl designed classic. I will answer any and all questions about this car. You won't be disappointed. Personal and professional inspections welcomed and encouraged. I have listed this car loca;;y and reserve the right to end this auction early if my sale price has been met. Sorry, but my reserve will not be disclosed. Happy bidding!
