This is a beautiful post war 1947 Buick Super 8 Convertible Model 56C. This car has been the center piece of a very high end private car collection for 40 plus years and has been meticulously maintained and preserved with all of its original equipment. Carlsbad Black exterior with Tan Bedford Cord Top and Red Leather interior make this car a real show stopper. the 248 CI Straight Eight with the “Three on the Tree” manual transmission make this car is a pleasure to drive with plenty of power. It has power windows, power seat and power convertible top which all work perfectly. The dash and gauges are spectacular looking and again, everything works as it should, even the clock keeps perfect time. The period correct Helms push bar in front, the beautiful Tripp Speedlight running/fog lights in the grill, along with the hand operated search light all add to the look of this car and they also work perfectly. The 1947 Buick grill, with its vertical bars and push bar is one of the most recognizable and admiredgrills out there, just beautiful. A few other new features for 1947include automatic choke, clock, ash receiver, turn signals, instrument cluster and the eye catching White Tenite Banjo style steering wheel. All of the stainless and chrome are near perfect, the paint and the interior are excellent. This car had a freshen up a few years ago (10 years or so)including a re-paint which looks great, all of the brake lines were replaced as well as the brake mechanicals, rubber weather strips and seals. The underside of this car is excellent, not evena spot of surface rust. I recently had the original Carter 2 bbl. carburetor rebuilt to OEM specs, flushed fuel system and installed a new battery as the carhad beensitting for a few years. A few things I must mention are, there is a small stain (size of a quarter) on the top (see pic) I'm sure it could be cleaned off, a few minor scratches that have been touched up near the hood (these hoods are awkward to open and close until you get familiar with it), and the courtesy lights under the seat are not working but I will look into that, may even be a bulb, that’s it. This car is ready tocruise, showand enjoy. The Buicks of this era have quite a following with large clubs and Buick meets. They are climbing in value rapidly and this one is definitely an investment quality car. Please contact me with any questions or particular photos you may want to see, I have hundreds. I am also including links to walk around videos, top up, top down and running. I have also included a link to a brief history of this car, informative read. Thank you for your interest. This is a private sale and this car is registered in my name in Ct. which is a non-titled state for vintage automobiles. Current Connecticut registration and Q1 Bill of Sale will be the paperwork you will receive. I am open to reasonable offers. Inspections are welcome. Thank You in advance.
