1961 Alfa Romeo SPRINT 101.02 Additional Info:

This 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint (Series 101.02) is a recent find after decades hidden away in dry storage. The intact Alfa Romeo warranty booklet shows it was delivered new in Rome, Italy in late August 1961. Shortly thereafter it was imported to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where service stamps and notes indicate Gaston Andrey maintained it. The car is a European-spec model and retains its original silver paint (and Bertone factory handwriting) on the dash and interior.
In the late 1990s the Sprint was discovered in a garage in Waltham outside of Boston. It was believed to have been parked in that location around 1965 and needed to be urgently moved as the building was slated for demolition. Shortly after its rescue it was painted in Alfa Red with plans to convert it to a vintage racer. However the project stalled and the freshly-painted body remained in a climate controlled garage for nearly 18 years. We discovered it as a rust-free, extremely original shell with an intact factory wiring harness, steering column, some dash parts, and a Euro Speedometer/Tri-Gauge. Since purchasing the car we have added a full, correct front suspension, rear end, and wheels to make it roll and steer for easier transport. A few other available parts were fitted as well, including front grilles, windshield, rear glass, door mechanism, and headlights/taillights.
This Sprint is truly a time capsule and blank canvas that can easily be returned to the road or transformed into a vintage racecar. Without the typically huge metalwork bills these cars often require (a friend recently spent nearly $40,000 on a ’58 Sprint’s metalwork) it provides an extremely rare opportunity to build the Sprint of your dreams in a timely and economical fashion.
The car is located in Westchester County, NY and available for inspection at that location. We can help arrange for transport to NY / NJ ports for shipment to Europe. Thank you for looking.
