1983 Chevrolet Other Additional Info:
1983 Chevrolet Caprice Super Stepside conversion
This truck was owned by my father-in-law and purchased about 15 years ago shortly after it was completed. It was a 2nd car and only driven occasionally in that time, so I don't think he put 5,000 miles on it. It was garage kept up until a few weeks ago when I took possession. The builder has over 19k in receipts, and was appraised in 2003 for $23,500.
The Good:
350/300 HP Chevy crate engine. This was purchased new in 2002 from Greenwood Chevrolet in Fort Meade, FL and professionally installed by a local speed shop in LakelandNew Cooper Cobra GT tires just installed when I took possession of the truckSuper Stepside conversion kit ($4,500) - http://superstepside.com/Custom interiorElectric tilt front endHooker Headers
The Bad:
The are several chips in the paint from normal wear over 15 years, and the paint on the roof appears to be bubbling. The transmission .... not sure what's wrong or how bad. It shifts strongly into reverse and drive, but will not shift out of 1st gear. It's a 700R4, so I checked the 2 obvious things that seem to be a problem (the TV cable and governor) but both seem OK. It could be something simple, or you may need to replace/rebuild the tranny
