1945 Willys Additional Info:
Titled and ready to ship. I bought this 1945 GPW with the intention of removing the civilian layer of paint to get to the original OD paint but, after doing that to my MB I don't think I'll have the time or patience to do another one. That being said, I did try to remove the layer of paint over the hood numbers and the passenger side fender successfully. Prior to me, this jeep was in the same family in California since 1946. It's not matching numbers but it has a GPW motor that was in running condition when parked. The body and floors are in excellent condition. The only major rust on the jeep is behind the driver seat which is very unusual. The rest of the jeep is excellent. The frame is complete from front to back. Original data tags are still on the glove box door and does match the vin on the frame. All grab handles, seats, spare tire carrier etc. are there. Very complete jeep. It is perfect for restoration but it would be nice if the new owner can keep it original and just remove the civilian layer of paint. I have some of the original seat springs as well at the canvas top that came with the jeep. The hat chanels are in excellent condition as are the tool boxes. I fired the jeep and ran it on a coffe can as fuel tank. Good luck and happy bidding. If you have any rare parts such as T1 compressor kit, capstan winch kit etc. I would take them as partial trade.Once paid for, I can store the jeep at no charge for 30 days, if you need more time please let me know in writing to make arrangements. If desired by the new owner I can also continue to get the civilian paint removed on the rest of the jeep.
