The Jeepster is an automobile originallyproduced by Willys-Overland Motors from 1948 to 1950. It was developed to filla gap in the company's product line, crossing over from their"utilitarian" proto SUVs and trucks to the passenger automobilemarket. The Jeepster initially included numerous deluxe features and interiorfittings in addition to a high level of standard equipment that cost extra onother automobiles. A total of almost 20,000 were manufactured. The 1950 modelyear featured the VJ-3 Jeepster's first styling revisions that included a newinstrument panel and redesigned front end featuring a V-shaped grille withhorizontal chrome trim. A new model was introduced with reduced standardequipment at a lower price.
