1952 Willys Aero Ace Additional Info:

This 1952 Willys Aero-Ace is a unique 2 door sedan and a first year example. After the conclusion of World War II, the Willys-Overland Motor Company of Toledo, Ohio, chose to focus its sales efforts on selling civilian versions of its jeep despite the company's long history making smaller cars before the War. That all changed in 1952 when Willys introduced the Aero series, marking its first foray back into the passenger car market. Designed by Phil Wright, the Aero was 2 door, 6-passenger car, that was touted in Willys advertising as being more spacious than its competition while remaining fuel efficient. The first Aeros were introduced to the public on January 18, 1952, the Aero Ace debuted a few months later on March 5, 1962. Perhaps the biggest achievement for Willys was its revolutionary F-Head engine, designed by Clyde Paton, winning the company second place Motor Trend Magazine's 1952 Award for Engineering Achievement. Under the sloping "plane-wing" hood on this Aero Ace is a 161.1 Cubic Inch "Hurricane" F-Head Inline 6 Cylinder engine paired with a single barrel carburetor that was said to push out 90 horsepower back in 1952. The Hurricane Inline 6 is hooked up to a 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive which makes this Willys Aero a joy to drive. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this Willys has a great look. Riding on wide whitewall bias ply tires with wheel discs and trim rings, this Aero Ace has a fantastic appearance going down the road. The exterior has been refinished in a beautiful two-tone paint scheme consisting of Cherokee Red body with White Top. The front and rear bench seats are upholstered in two-tone grey cloth. The dash, door panels and steering wheel are in wonderful shape and appear to be in their stock configuration. The dash is equipped with a 100 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, fuel gauge, and pushbutton AM radio. Whether you're looking for you're adding to classic car collection or you're buying to first classic car, this 1952 Willys Aero Ace would make a fantastic choice. Give us a call today!
