Vehicle Original VIN : NCS104312
For most of us, the classic vehicle world is about standing out with some attitude, and it doesn't get more custom or unique than this. After all, a 1962 Willys Pickup will already draw a crowd. Still, when it has been custom-built with a fuel-injected V8, a beefy lifted style, a four-speed automatic, and an A/C interior, you're almost guaranteed to be the coolest custom 4x4 everywhere you go.
We love a good post-war Willys because the face is an unmistakable Jeep-like style, but there's an added vintage distinction. It's like seeing your favorite movie star's grandfather, who is just as ruggedly handsome, but with better-defined features because he worked for a living. The pepper gray paint is a more modern application, and its shine highlights all the ribbed details that came in the panel stamping (they were initially for strength but now increase the cool factor.) This paint package also does a good job of integrating the upgrades. The black grille/hood stripe and fender strips coordinate nicely with the beefy bumpers and 16-inch MotoMetal wheels. And there's a nice orange pinstripe that accents the body and proudly displays the full chassis of this lifted truck. It's all part of a bolder and more aggressive package, and you get the impression that it's all about enhancing the usefulness rather than just empty style. After all, this is a true 4x4, and you have handy features like a proper steel bed and a modern tow hitch. So this classic is also a true and read-to-work truck.
The interior does a terrific job of looking upgraded without taking away from the classic pickup feeling. So you have simple but robust features like the door panels, bench seat, and four-spoke steering wheel. And the smooth dash with a large speedo in the center is pure classic Jeep cool. But the feeling here is certainly more upgraded than a stock Willys. You have nice conveniences, like cold-blowing air conditioning, shoulder seatbelts, and an AM/FM/CD stereo in an overhead console. And the full auxiliary readouts, dash-mounted tach, and Sniper EFI controller are all part of a package that lets you know there's something nice under the hood.
The engine bay has a terrific orange and black full custom setup that is positively show-ready. And while you'll love the look, you'll also love the extra power. This 350 cubic-inch Chevy V8 is more than 50 percent larger than the original motor offered in this pickup. And the upgrades don't end there. It has added power from a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system and a wicked set of headers that you can see from the outside (almost like this was a gasser truck!) It's a nice power package with the potential to be mild or wild once you decide how to dial in the EFI system. This also has the right supporting pieces, like an MSD ignition, an Optima battery, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, power steering, and front disc brakes are the welcomed additions that Willys wasn't giving you from the factory. But it's no coddler with its work-ready two-speed 4x4 transfer case, tall suspension, and Falken Rocky Mountain tires.
This custom build has rarity, power, utility, and distinction. It's an awesome truck that also happens to be a seldom-seen Willys. That's why you know this one is irresistible. Call now!
