1941 Willys Crust Additional Info:
Recent build, only 3 years old. I have 2 other Jeeps and recently acquired an addiction to Volkswagens, its time to part with this. I have had it all over the North East, it straight up kicks butt! It has wicked traction, gobs of torque, and has the stature to fit in places most fullsize crawlers on 1tons cant go. This was a professional build, not a shade tree hack,
Quick blueprint:-Body: 1941 Ford GPW tub, 1943 Willys MB grill, 1946 Willys CJ2A fenders. Custom made aluminum hood. New floor front to back in the tub. Fenders and hood were stretched 2 inches. Custom 8 point roll cage with seats and harnesses mounted to cage. Aluminum skinned roof. Corbeau low back seats. 5 point harnesses.
-Frame, professionally fabricated steel boxed frame. Outboarded spring mounts in the rear, shackle reverse in front using slider boxes instead of shackles. Works flawlessly, never flop a shackle again. The mack daddy of winches Warn 8274 set low inside the frame rails. Wheelbase is set at 88 inches, that's 8 inches longer than a stock Willys.
-Suspension, Waggy springs up front with add-a-leafs, FJ40 springs in the rear, ProComp shocks all around. Spring over axle. Heavy antiwrap bar in the rear.
-Drivetrain, Chevy 4.3L Vortec V6, Professional built custom harness, tuned PCM all pollution controls eliminated, parameters tweaked, underdrive pulleys, custom log headers, 2" exhaust through a Porter Steelpack muffler.Toyota FJ40 4spd transmission and transfercase stock. Toyota 9.5 axles front and rear, 4:10 gears, fozzy lock welded spiders, chevy metric disc brakes all around, Corvette master cylinder.Full hydro steering, Custom aluminum 12 gallon fuel cell with 4 Walbro pickups inside.
-Tires, 36x13.5x 15 Iroks, about half tread grip like a mofo. Boring black Bard steel wheels
This rig was built specifically for North East style of offroading, meaning that it has plenty of power to spin tires in mud, is short and narrow enough to weave through tight wooded trails, has skid plates and rock rails to handle boulder bashing, computerized fuel injection to handle climbing and any angle. Is quick enough to drag race your buddies on a straight away. I've wheeled this at Rausche Creek and it was capable enough to make some wicked climbs. It has also survived wheeling really gnarly trails at Field and Forest in NH,
also, I should mention that eBay requires that I include information on the title. I do not have any paperwork for this Jeep, it was built specifically for offroad use. I will include a hand written bill of sale with purchase.
