1953 Willys WOOD STAKEBODY Additional Info:

1953 WILLY'S PICKUP with STAKE-BODY conversion. One of a kind, PLUM, head turning, trophy winning, sweet drive.
This truck was restored from the frame up in 2002, has placed best of show many times and given me years of loyal, absolutely joyful FUN. As a builder/designer of historic buildings, it has serviced me well and turned many heads along the way. Reliably runs through the worse weather and conditions to fulfill it's duty of helping me in my business. My father took it to about 8 car/truck shows 2003 to 2010 and came back with a trophy from every show, bar none, including best in show.
I used my Willy's for light duty on nice days from my garage and work site to a local Home Depot 2010 to 2014 and put on about 5,000 miles with more than 5,000 waves and smiles along the way. My cost to rebuild in 2002 was about $40,000, but now because I am selling my 6 car garage house, something has to go. My loss is your treasure.
The drive train is all original, well maintained and does not burn any oil. I upgraded to an electronic ignition and new/rebuilt carburetor so it starts easily with manual choke. All gears: overdrive, 4 wheel drive, hi and lo are all in perfect working order. Has original Willy's Super Hurricane 6 cylinder that runs smooth and cruises at 60 MPH in OD.
There are a few minor scratches from my use 2010 to 2014, but there is nothing major. There is no rust or anything in need of repair. Costs less than a Lamborghini and is loads more fun in a Home Depot parking lot on a sunny Sunday afternoon!
